Sekoya Originals furniture, lighting, candlesticks, and gates are designed in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Featuring iron, kiln-formed glass, handmade papers, reeds, pebbles, slate, and other natural materials, Sekoyadesigns highlight any indoor or outdoor living space.
Iron allows designer Sequoia Madan to create “very fluid functional designs that are light and lyrical.” Sienna and amber finishes are applied once the iron is sealed. Natural multicolor slate from India allow Madan to work with bluish green-greys, rust browns, honey yellows, yellow-greens, green-purples, and more.
Riverbeds are created in many shelf and table designs by placing pebbles between two pieces of slate or kiln-formed glass. Each piece of glass is individually formed in a kiln at Madan’s Santa Fe Studio.Small pieces of window glass are stacked together in a reservoir and melted down to form desired size and thickness. The edge is organic and we mostly work in 1″ thickness. On the top surface one can seewhere small pieces of glass have fused together. Inside the glass are air bubbles which create magical reflections when hit by sunlight.
Madan also makes use of various reeds, fine handmade papers from Thailand, Japan, and Mexico, and birds nests in select designs.
